About Us

After serving his country in the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division and U.S. Army Ranger, Richard Thrailkill moved back to Texas, in the Duncanville area, and started working in the sheet metal business. He learned so much in those early years – operation of several machines, time management for cost effectiveness, how to calculate and keep close tolerances. He was promoted to Shop Foreman, then into Sales, as well as, Purchasing. During this time, he married and had a family of four children.

Richard wanted another challenge. He started First Quality Fabricating in Dallas TX. His wife, Edna, at his side. Together, they forged ahead with their dream of making a successful business, while never missing a single extra-curricular activity in which their four children were involved, and never missing a Sunday in their church, even serving as Sunday School Superintendent and teaching a class for decades. As the years have gone by, their four children have joined in the company. Each one unique to their skill. Each one following in the footsteps set before them. Do the job right. Treat customers right. Treat the employees right. That seems to be working! In October 2019, First Quality Fabricating celebrates 40 years in business as we continue to grow and evolve, with Richard, still at the helm.

Along with many improvements over these years, First Quality Fabricating expanded its sales force to grow the company’s customer base further. That has been successful with the addition of four types of businesses already coming on-board with us.
